Winter may not be as cold as expected, but Comics veterans Frank Tieri (Wolverine, Batman, Red Sonja: The Black Tower”) and Felix Ruiz (“Wolverine: MAX, Halo) have clocked in the second instalment of their bone chilling new revival of “The Hangman,” at Archie Comics’ Dark Circle imprint to keep you cringing till spring.  First off, you should know, this book is F*&*ing Disturbing!  Which is exactly why I think I found a new book to follow, life needs a little disturbing fiction to give us an edge, and theres nothing like a spirit of vengeance sanctioned by heaven and beset upon the earth by the devil himself to give you a little guidance on which paths not to follow in life. So, if you like to have trouble sleeping at night, then pick this one up.

Frank Tieri does an amazing job introducing us to main character and anti-hero Mike Minetta.  Don’t worry if you missed issue #1,  newcomers will pick up the key info fast as Mike wakes up in Hell and comes face to face with all the people he’s sent there before him, finally to be made an offer he can’t refuse by Ol’ Scratch , himself. Harrowingly rendered by comics great Felix Ruiz, this is one book that just sticks to your brain cells.  Theres been, of late, a major trend in media, film and television with stories of reckoning with the lord of the abyss; I wouldn’t be surprised if this story turns out to get some extra attention, so invest some of your time and read The Hangman #2, it won’t disappoint.
