Plot
The Western Front. September 12, 1914. It’s early morning in the French trenches. Two soldiers eat as the rain drowns the land. The sunrise pulls a strange green cloud up from the horizon. The smell of death grows as a sinister shadow is cast upon the trenches: the Germans are attacking. The French quickly arm themselves and open fire on the approaching enemy soldiers, but their bullets might as well be spit balls. The German soldiers who do fall rise instantly and continue their approach. What ensues is a morning of massacre, the French had no chance. When the medical teams arrive, all that remain are pieces of what were once soldiers: devoured by an unknown weapon.
But as the French tend to their dead, the Germans are just a few miles outside of Paris.
The Germans have harnessed a chemical formula that instantly revives their fallen soldiers. Germany now holds the most dangerous weapon on the planet. They call their new army “The Green Skull.” It doesn’t take long for Germany to overwhelm and overthrow all of France and Italy, the rest of Europe is next.
The Empire is winning this war and now they prepare to take Britain. In an attempt to combat the quickly approaching attack, Britain calls out to the US for assistance. The year is 1917.
Tesla Team
The US, seeing an eminent threat, sends over their best force: The Tesla Initiative. The Initiative is a Special Forces team formed by Nikola Tesla. The team consists of Captain John Lugosi, Dr. K, and 12 specialized Marines. The team is equipped with high tech electromagnetic weaponry. Their objective is simple: do not engage in unnecessary combat, find the chemical strain, and bring it back. A counteragent must be developed to help fight The Empire……
My MINI Review…
So what to do when German Soldiers in 1914 get right back up right after being shot? Why send in the Americans of course!
So I have to say, I’d highly recommend going out and finding the Horror styled comic known as ‘Who Will Save The World?’ A Black and White styled (some colored?) comic with a fully colored cover that while it’s not jumping right out at you. Will leave you possibly a bit shocked! This fine story is written by the team of: Rita Gorgoni and Stefano Cardoselli, art by Stefano Cardoselli, translated by Alex Rodrik (Alex was Interviewed right here on InvestComics TV!), and coming to you directly from DarkSlinger Comics here in the good ol’ USA!
So can the Americans help the British with these specially drugged German Soldiers in time before it’s too late? Well….only time and hopefully many issues of this will tell!
Now Mr. InvestComics himself Jay Katz with a few questions for Stefano Cardoselli!
1- How long have you’ve been an artist?
I started drawing since I was a child, even with moments of break I was….drawing. I always remember drawing and writing lengthy graphic novels, science fiction stories where the tragic hero must face the armies of bad guys all by himself ….I drew everything in pencil, of course. I was 10 years and the result was a little rough but fun.
2-….And do you ink, color, and write as well?
Yeah … I ink, I’ve never worked with an inker, I prefer to do everything myself, especially the colors by hand, for digital I have the invaluable assistance of the colors of our study. I’m not a real writer, I write stories and then Rita adds that extra touch. She is a real writer.
3- You reside in Italy, correct? How does the comic book industry differ from overseas to America, if at all?
I do not know, basically do not work with Italian publishers, certainly the Italian market is now dying at least from what I hear…I am fine working in the States, Kevin Eastman gives publishers like me a real source of inspiration. Others which I will always be grateful for believing in me, Rita and our “history”… Ben and Ed of ComX, the great Alex Rodrik; talented writer and friend, Adam Watson and the Dark Kate Slinger comics publisher based in Portland, strong and vital, and but not least Darren of Blue Water comics publishing industry that leaves you free to create and write!
4-What character would you love to one day draw, and why?
when working with Alex and Rita at ComX “Bushido Wasabi,” and Van Helsing. Adam Watson is an interesting character! Then there are other characters who revolve around the Azurek studios…..soon will come to light but…If I had a choice for draw anyone it would be…. LOBO!
5- What was the inspiration behind these awesome preview pages and story?
I love horror movies, especially the Romero zombie movies, and Nikola Tesla.
6-You worked with Bob Heske on 2012 The Final Prayer, what story did you do?
It was a fantastic experience! Bob is a great author! He left us to completely free to create. I drew on a story written by Rita “The end is near”.
7- Where can we find, and buy more of Stefano Cardoselli?
Styx and Stone series, Bluewater Comics; issue One will be out in January, but you can still pre-order. The first 2 issues are written by Adam Gragg & Darren G. Davis; Colors by Willie Jimenez, and Van Helsing. Darkslinger Comics Volume 3; story by Adam Watson cover by Tony Morgan, Holli Hoxxx Tinius Bros.”Riders” Heavy Metal Magazine Dec 28th, story by Rita Gorgons and Translated by Alex Rodrik. and a lot of books for DarkSlingers Comics from 2011 “Who Will Save The World?” out in March! The comic can be ordered in all the comic store, or directly via the web site of the publishers.
Thanks for your time Stefano! We look forward to seeing you on InvestComics TV!
