Dragonstorm #1

Unstoppable Comics

…And we’re back, this time with another title from the awesome group known as Unstoppable Comics! Dragons are out main focal point, well sort of. This title immediately dives into the action almost as soon as it starts. And my personal impression of the old man character is that I find him to be a complete pric*. I normally don’t have an instant dislike for characters, but writer Jaydee Rosario has managed to do this to me.  And speaking of Jaydee, the fact that he’s managed to do all three jobs of writing, creating, and lettering is pretty neat. Juggling all of these tasks is not an easy feat.  As he’s managed to do a great job in all three areas!

While reading through the comic, I found myself reminiscing of the 90’s art style. Not a bad thing, just pointing it out.

One does wonder why the old man character went to the extremes he did to gain the girl, and in turn having the main character who’s obviously his enemy,  have anything to do with her! It’s quite clear that our old man character has issues! Will Dragonstorm and the girl come out of this alive? Will justice be served?  Read on to find out!

Binary Gray #1 and #2

Assailant Comics

Writer/Creator: Chris Charlton

Pencils/Inks: Rowel Roque

Colors: Anthonie Wilson

Letters: Brant W. Fowler

Reviewer: Robert McClelland

My first impression of the cover designs for these two issues is that with the first issue they managed to blend real and drawn images rather well. Not to mention the first cover reminded me of a certain scene or two from the 3rd Superman film. While the second issue cover I’m not too sure of what I’m looking at to be honest!  The first issue greets us with a dream that Alex seems rather familiar with. And I imagine having the same dream for years would drive anyone nuts after a while.

Rowel Roque’s artwork was good and Charlton’s writing kept me interested throughout.

Have to say though, that Alex putting his bare hand in an active computer part was a rather dumb move on his part. As anyone who’s been in a computer class knows that’s an idea full of badness.  Such as a rather nasty shock or death even.

And now that your lesson in Computer Do’s and Don’ts has been completed, on with the review!

Is there a potential love interest our main techie is interested in? And readers should look forward to finding out more on that. The tweaks that Mr. Tech winds up with after his accident are pretty interesting. Kind of like Jake 2.0 but more like 3.0 with this story. Now if you are offended by a little salty language and cleavage shots, you may not want to steer clear of this!

I love that writer Charlton added in some background history on the main character, as well as some others in both of these issues. As it obliviously helps new readers learn a bit about this universe.

Issue 2 also helps give some insight to this universe and the fact there are a team of heroes out there!

Will Mr. Tech find out the answers to his questions? Or will he face his first bad guy and never gain those answers? To find out those answers, check out these two issues from Assailant Comics! You won’t be disappointed. Especially all you tech lovers out there!
