Banner meets Cho for the first time in Generations Banner Hulk & Totally Awesome Hulk #1. It was very painful to type out ‘Totally Awesome Hulk’, ain’t gonna lie. That has to be one of the silliest, lamest, childish titles in all of Marvel Comics history. We’ve said that since day one and we’ll continue to keep saying it, it’s extremely silly. Now back to the comic. We are hoping that Bruce Banner (the INCREDIBLE HULK) beats down Amadeus Cho (Totally Awesome Hulk…ugh!) so bad that Marvel has to cancel the Totally Awesome title. Greg Pak writes and Matteo Buffagni pencils.
Darth Vader ‘Year One’ continues this week; Darth Vader #4. Creators Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camuncoli.
Want to read a collection of stories regarding a very large dog? Sure you do! Buy Lockjaw Dog Days.

Buy/Bid – Ghost Zero #1

Buy/Bid – Elsewhere #1

Buy/Bid – Lockjaw #1

Buy/Bid – TMNT #73

InvestComics Indie Hot Picks;
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #73 will be the start of the ’Trial of Krang’ part 1. Not only will this be a new storyline, it’ll bring in a lot of introductions into the TMNT world, including new characters. That said, collectors should keep their ear to the ground and their eyes peeled to these pages.
Click on the RED links, Images or the comic cover to buy/bid from All available sellers on Ebay.
Albatross Comics exploded onto the scene with their Hillbilly series. Now CEO/writer Eric Powell releases the next hot book; Galaktikon #1. Creators also on this book, writer Brendon Small and artists Steve Mannion & Jason Moore.
Grumpy Cat was and still is (somewhat) of an internet sensation. Dynamite Entertainment grabs the rights to Grumpy Cat and made the feline’s first comic book ever a while back. Now they’re teaming Grumpy Cat with one of the most famous (only) lasagna eating cats of all time; Garfield. Welcome to Grumpy Cat Garfield #1. How Grumpy Cat got first billing here is a mystery to us, but enjoy anyway. Mark Evanier and Steve Uy. Also coming from Dynamite; Turok #1. Writers Aubrey Sitterson/Chuck Wendig and art by Alvaro Sarreseca.
Ghost Station Zero #1 from Image comics rides on the coattails of the new Atomic Blonde movie. If you like a beautiful female kicking all kinds of as*, this book is for you. Written by Anthony Johnson and art by Shari Chankhamma.
Every new sci-fi Image Comic seems to sell out quick and bounce a bit in the aftermarket. Will the same happen with Elsewhere #1? Written by Jay Faerber and art by Sumeyye Kesgin and Ron Riley.
Boom Studios’ Mech Cadet Yu #1 is written by Greg Pak and art by Takeshi Miyazawa. Yes, we’ll definitely check this out and so should you.
Dead of Winter #1 – Oni Press. Writer Kyle Starks and art by Gabo.

Buy/Bid – Galaktikon #1

Buy/Bid – Winter #1

Buy/Bid – Turok #1

Buy/Bid – Mech #1

Buy/Bid – Grumpy/Garfield #1

InvestComics Hot Picks – New Release Comics on 5/7/14

[scrollGallery id=349]

We hope that your Free Comic book day was a good one. If you were lucky enough to grab a few free comics, good for you! One free comic in particular may turn out to be a nice keeper. The free comic named Epic (ComixTribe) has massive potential written all over it. This Wednesday; Epic (2013 ComixTribe) #1 arrives on the shelf with a sold out sign on it. If you were lucky enough to snag a copy, hold onto it because there might be some movement in the aftermarket on Epic’s first appearance.

The new Maxx comic this week; Maxx Maxximized (2013 IDW) #7 has an appearance from Pitt. Pitt was an awesome Dale Keown character back in the 90’s. Good to see he’s back! Look for the overprinted Youngblood #4 for Pitt’s first appearance.

A couple of sold out/almost sold out comics from Image Comics arrive this week. Check out Nailbiter (2014 Image) #1 (sold out) and Madame Frankenstein (2014 Image) #1 (on the verge of the sold out status). Two unique books….limited quantity. Good luck.

Garfield actually makes the Hot Picks this week. This may be a first! Well America’s favorite cat makes it this week with good reason. Garfield (2012 Boom) #25 will be an anniversary issue, which will also be accompanied by a George Perez variant.  So if you have $25 to splurge, this would be a nice comic to get signed and graded. Don’t wait for an immediate return on your monies. This comic would be one to sit on for years to come. It’s a long term investment.

Iron Fist continues his origin this week in Iron Fist Living Weapon (2014) #2. I said this once on here, and I’ll say it for the hundredth time now too. Buy Marvel Premiere #15 (1974). This is Iron Fists’ first appearance and should have be archived in your collection  from years ago. Iron Fist is a good television episode (Netflix) or movie away from becoming huge. You’ve been warned….

Apparently the New 52 is threating to “change things!” The question we all collectively ask is “so soon??” Batwing (2011-) #31 will possible involve a NEW Batwing, while New 52 Futures End (2014) #1 sets everything in the not too distant future amok. What’s wrong with the present DC?

Batman Superman (2013 DC) #10 looks like a good standalone issue read. Superman has to shrink and go inside Bruce’s body to fight a germ or something. While in there, he discovers something unfathomable. Could it be that dreaded “C” word? Who knows, but must read comics here!

A few years ago I got my first ever story published by BlueWater Comics. House of Horrors #1 was the title, and the artist on my story was Stefano Cardoselli. Check out the original cover (in the scroll gallery) to Vincent Price Presents #36 (which later became House of Horrors #1 instead) by Stefano. Stefano brings it in everything he does. That’s why Necromantical (2014 Ardden) #1 is just about sold out. Stefano gives his best and it shows.

Chaos (2014 Dynamite) #1 is just about sold out at the distributor. Along with Burn the Orphanage Reign of Terror (2014) #1 and Woods (2014 Boom) #1.

After all of the Amazing Spider-Man #1 hoopla from last week we get Amazing Spider-Man (2014 3rd Series) #1.1. Now is this really that necessary? 1.1? Really? The same goes for Cyclops (2014 2nd Series) #1. Who is asking for a solo Cyclops book?? Once more here, Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man (2014) #1………okay……..

Invest wisely.

Carpe Diem

PAPERCUTZ’S GARFIELD & CO. BRINGS THE FAT CAT TO GRAPHIC NOVELS

Everyone’s Favorite Lasagna-Loving Cat is Back with His New Series:Your browser may not support display of this image.
Graphic Novels from PAPERCUTZ!

Papercutz, the premiere publisher of such popular graphic novel series as BIONICLE, DISNEY FAIRIES, GERONIMO STILTON, HARDY BOYS, NANCY DREW, THE SMURFS, PAPERCUTZ SLICES and TALES FROM THE CRYPT releases GARFIELD #Co graphic novels #1 “Fish to Fry” and #2 “The Curse of the Cat People” on May 24th, 2011. GARFIELD & Co presents stories from Cartoon Network’s hit series The Garfield Show in comic format. GARFIELD & Co is one of Cartoon Network’s biggest hits – it airs every day of the week reaching approximately 600,000 kids!

These graphic novel adaptations lay out the screen captures carefully to create real comics pages as opposed to many such adaptations showing random frames floating between empty spaces.

In Volume #1 “Fish to Fry,” Jon reluctantly agrees to let his girlfriend Liz keep her pet fish at his house while she’s away out of town. Jon has to stop these fish from becoming Garfield’s snacks – or else! Volume #2 “The Curse of the Cat People” finds our paunchy protagonist, along with his foil Odie, transported into another dimension through a magic mirror. Garfield and Odie end up in an alternate version of ancient Egypt where cats rule the world! Both graphic novels feature two additional stories that cover everything from Pet Shows to Garfield’s search for his beloved teddy bear “Pooky,” to Odie’s discovery of a valuable dinosaur fossil in Jon’s backyard!

Garfield’s diverse fan base should provide a ready audience for this series. From fans of the daily comic strip (serialized in over 2,400 newspapers around the world), to those who grew up on the Garfield & Friends television series from the 1990’s, to fans of the Garfield films and the television show from which these comics are adapted – GARFIELD & Co graphic novels have a little something for everyone.

Founded in 2005, Papercutz is dedicated to publishing the best comics and graphic novels for kids 6-14 and all young at heart. GARFIELD & Co graphic novels are 6½ x 9, 32 pages, full-color $7.99 in hardcover. #1 “Fish to Fry” ISBN: 978-1-59707-266-3, #2 “The Curse of the Cat People” ISBN: 978-1-59707-267-0.
