We were at New York Comic Con this past week. Below is a snippet video of our press coverage. We had tremendous coverage (as we always do) on all of our social media outlets, but we always make these videos every year when we come back for our fans. Enjoy!

**Please, if you are a new reader or a regular reader of this article and have not seen or read the disclaimer, we urge you to read it (link provided above and tab on top of site).

NOTE. Please understand that when InvestComics releases the Hot Picks article on Friday that many of the independent comics may not be available on Ebay yet. Most of the time, some of the more obscure titles make their way onto Ebay later on in the week or right on/at/before new comic book day on Wednesday. Be sure to check back and click the links or cover(s) to see if the books you want have been listed on Ebay. They usually show up, so be sure to check back!

Each week InvestComics seeks out a comic(s) on Ebay for $100 or less and then brings it to the attention of our fans. We call it IC 100 Club Pick. The idea is to get a great book at a great price. We do not own nor are we selling these comics. The comics are found by a random process. We do not know the ebay seller(s), nor are we promoting the Ebay seller. Any knowing from the Ebay seller of InvestComics or its affiliates is purely coincidental. (See disclaimer for more details).

IC 100 Club Pick: Swamp Thing #6 CGC graded 9.0 (1973). Anytime a collector is able to purchase a 9.0 signed book from a LEGEND such as Bernie Wrightson, there should be absolutely no hesitation in buying that book. Here, case in point is a Swamp Thing #6, CGC graded 9.0 for $99 Buy It Now with a Bernie Wrightson signature. There is no question that a collector must have this in their collection. Then check out one of our first InvestComics Creator Spotlights; Bernie Wrightson (click image below). We released this back in early 2015 with the release of our new site, so don’t mind the messiness in the article, just buy things from this creator, he’s a LEGEND. That’s it. Nuff said.

Once in while on new comic book Wednesday there is a comic that we know we’re about to tout with great glee. This week is one of those times. A story line that will aim to please and will have speculators peeking in as well. Batman #9 is the book that collectors need to check out this Wednesday. It’s the first part of a story line named “I Am Suicide.” We love that title. This title is a prologue on what is to come. Batman has to break into Arkham Asylum to retrieve one of his greatest adversaries ever; Bane. The reasoning is to recruit a few of his foes to form his very own Suicide Squad to rescue Gotham Girl and Psycho-Pirate. The modern day Batman Suicide Squad team starts right here. You really need to get in on the ground floor and that ground floor starts in this issue.

Green Lanterns #6 debuted the most powerful ring of all; the Phantom Ring. This Wednesday in Green Lanterns #9 “The Phantom Ring” part one!

So many delays, puts the Dark Knight III series into the “oh is that coming out this month? I didn’t know that.” phase. Dark Knight III The Master Race #6 makes it to the new comics shelf this week with the tag line “Is Gotham ready for the new Batgirl?” Here’s a better question “Does anyone care at this point?” Delays and too much time between books kills momentum and interest.

What is it with the names of some of the new comics these days? Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye #1? Okay. Why not just Cave Carson #1? So pretentious, no?

Marvel will put out an origin story about a hammer. Not just any hammer of course. Thor’s hammer: The Mighty Mjolnir. Check out the hammer story in Mighty Thor #12. We bet no one (most no one) at Home Depot or Lowes knows about this hammer.

The latest Marvel Comics sensation is Deadpool Back In Black. This week, Deadpool Back In Black #2 comes out and it will sell out like the first issue did. There will probably be a lower print run (obviously) of the second issue, so get on this if you want a first print. The Ron Lim Venompool cover is solid, but it’s the Salva Espin homage cover of Amazing Fantasy #15 with Power Pack (and a clown!) that wins. Anyone remember what InvestComics has said about Power Pack over the past few years?? Since 2010. We actually touched on it more recently; InvestComics Hot Picks #437 (August). Yes it will probably happen eventually, you’ll see. Just remember to give us credit and not to be such a nerd and take the credit. Thanks!

Click on the RED links or the comic cover to buy/bid from All sellers on Ebay.

Sticking with Deadpool, he seems to be following in the footsteps of Batman in the gathering/assembling of a team in Deadpool Too Soon #1. The difference between him and Bats’ team is that his team does not consist of a bunch of adversaries. Squirrel Girl, Rocket Raccoon, Howard The Duck, Ant-Man, Groot and the Punisher join forces. Like we always say, we don’t make this stuff up, we just report it.

Captain America Sam Wilson #14 features the villain Flag-Smasher smashing things up! A ridiculously beautiful cover by Marcos Martin adds to the awesomeness here. The hash tag movement Marvel is trying to start is right there on the cover for fans to see, #TakeBackTheShield. So what are you waiting for?? Start the hash tag movement! Oh and the most recent Flag-Smasher character first appeared in Deadpool #43 (2015).

Fans will learn more about Alice in A-Force #10. Alice first appeared in the previous issue; A-Force #9 and made a photo cameo in A-Force #8. That’s your Alice roundup!

Doctor Doom becomes Iron Man for the first time in Infamous Iron Man #1. Lots of pointless variants accompany this one.

Chapter House Publishing turns up creative firepower this Wednesday with two amazing Archie Comics creators debuting a new series. Die Kitty Die #1 with be brought to you by writers Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz and Artist Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz! Want more repeating? Okay. Look for great interest here as Chapter House Publishing knows how to put a product together very well and the creators are veterans that know how to put a product together very well. Told you we’d do that, now go out and check this comic out.

Cheryl Blossom makes her debut in the new Archie Comics universe. Check out Archie #13 for the vixen known as Cheryl Blossom!

Brian Pulido’s Lady Death character has been around for 25 years now! First debuting in Evil Ernie #1 (1991) from Eternity Comics. This week’s Lady Death Extinction Express #1 will introduce a new character named Chaotica. Coffin Comics tells us that this character will be a major player in Lady Death’s universe.

Here are some other indie comics to check out this Wednesday! Spell On Wheels #1 (Dark Horse). Lord Of Gore #1 (Devils Due Publishing) features a Hack/Slash variant cover from Tim Seeley. Love and Rockets #1 (Fantagraphics).

……And here is last week’s newest video series on InvestComics; Comics To Look Out For On NEW Comic Book Day – InvestComics Hot Picks #442. Our man SemperFi brings the InvestComics Hot Picks article to life each and every week!

Before reading ahead, we feel we need to warn you that our articles contain very harsh truths in them. Not vulgar language, just a good solid dose of honesty. They always have, they always will. If you are easily offended, cannot come to terms that other people have opinions too beside yourself and especially if you’re a fanboy, discontinue reading. Go back to the other places selling you the farm. This is NOT the place for you. We’re here to have fun and not lie to you. Thank you and enjoy!

IC 100 Club Pick: Batman The Cult #1 (1998) 9.8. Here is a classic Batman story told in four issues from two of the industries best in the biz. Writer Jim Starlin and artist Bernie Wrightson have their hands on this series. They also have their hand in actually signing the cover of this fabulous comic. A MERE $79.99 price tag for two legends of the industry signing the cover here. This is a beauty at that price, for this grade. Buy this now, here, before it’s gone forever. This will be a sure fire collectors item 25 years from now. Jim and Bernie are comic book industry legends because of their styles and the way they told their stories. The industry has learned and follows these two giants because of their amazing talents. This is an amazing book to own. Period.

Marvel readers be warned, New Avengers #16 will bring some big time twist and turns within the pages of this book on Wednesday.

InvestComics has a serious influence on the comic book market and industry. Sorry haters, but the truth be told. We mentioned the first issue of Spider-Man Deadpool #1 as a no-brainer speculative/read comic quite a while ago. We predicted a sell out. Naturally (and obviously) this happened. It’s on its 8th printing. As each issue came out we told fans to keep getting each issue. Not only because the series was a well written, action packed book, but the fact that each issue kept selling out. We stated this phrase; “…..each book in this series keeps selling out, so get on top of this…” Well guess who now uses that line as part of their “up-sell” of this series? Yes you got it, Marvel does! You’re welcome guys/gals! So with all of our gloating and patting ourselves on the back out of the way, we arrive to Spider-Man Deadpool #9 this week. Itsy-Bitsy first appeared in the last issue, find out who or what she’s about this coming Wednesday. As for the series? We’re still in the bull market here (bullish). Hey Marvel…….”We’re still in bull market mode regarding the Spider-Man Deadpool series”. It’s okay, you can use it if you’d like, just some credit this time maybe?? And hey Image Comics, the same to you! C’mon guys! Relax fanboys, just having fun here. Save your thread messages and emails, we never listen to what you have to say anyway.

Doctor Strange And The Sorcerers Supreme #1 will debut in late October. It will feature the first appearance of some characters on the new team Doctor Strange will put together. Marvel clued fans onto this info a while back, but it looks as though fans may get the first appearance(s) happening a bit earlier in this week’s Doctor Strange Annual #1. The Sorcerers Supreme team may appear in this book before their ‘official’ debut a few weeks later in late October.
Deadpool Annual #1 will feature his ‘Insufferable Pals’. Those pals will be Firestar and Iceman. This annual is obviously spoofing on the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends #1 from 1981, which happens to feature the first appearance of Firestar in Marvel’s continuity.
Spider-Gwen #12 pits Spider-Gwen against the Punisher. Should be a fun fight! Go Frank! (Did we say that out loud?). A very cool B&W Baltimore Comic Con variant exist of the regular cover on Ebay. Be sure to check that cover out too when you click the link.
Cosplay guru Riki ‘Riddle’ Lecotey has sold out her Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #12 variant cover. Kudos Riki!

Writer Dan Jurgens and artist Ryan Sook bring fans the new Batman Beyond Rebirth #1 title. The delayed Blue Beetle #1 comes out this week. This book is brought to us by Keith Giffen (writer) and Scott Kolins (pencils).
A few weeks ago, readers learned more about the villain Harley Sinn. Find out who Harley Sinn actually is in the revealing of her identity in Harley Quinn And Her Gang Of Harleys #6.
Deathstroke writer Christopher Priest continues to make his title a go-to book each month. Deathstroke #3 brings Rose Wilson (The Ravager) front and center. Rose Wilson (Ravager) first appeared in Deathstroke The Terminator #15 (1992). A very affordable first appearance…..at the moment. And check out the awesome Shane Davis variant. The Ravager looks fantastic. And also, have you seen our Deathstroke checklist that came out in May 2015 on InvestComics? It’s quite the extensive list. Not only will Valiant Entertainment’s X-O Manowar #50 be a spectacular 64 page anniversary issue, but the variant covers that will accompany this issue are gorgeous. We’ve narrowed down to four covers we love the most, but readers should, without a doubt get a copy of X-O Manowar #50 this Wednesday no matter which cover! Here are the four covers we dig the most; Kaare Andrews, Chip Zdarsky, Shane Davis and Phil Jimenez. The Phil Jimenez variant cover is an Amazing Spider-Man #583 homage. A cover he actually did himself! Valiant Entertainments new team book Generation Zero is making some noise. Readers should definitely be on top of Generation Zero #2. This series will gain momentum as the issues come out, be on top of this one.
Eric Powell continues to destroy any hope in getting first prints of his new hit series; Hillbilly. It looks like Hillbilly #3 will sell out by the time you reach the end of this article. Actually, nope, sold out already. Best get your copy off the rack if you want one.

The John Watkiss cover from Surgeon X #1 will turn some heads on the new release wall. Then look for readers to love it because Sara Kenney will deliver a unique comic unlike anything else on the market. A possible sleeper hit, be sure to pull this one off the rack. The best part? No variants, just one cover!

Writers Marguerite Bennett/Cameron Deordio, along with artist Audrey Mok bring the new Archie Comics title Josie And The Pussycats #1. Archie’s new television series will bring the ratings and the fans (and new fans) along with it. We think the Archie series will do extremely well, so you better have those Archie comics in order. We put out an Archie Comics checklist back in January of 2015. You can click HERE to get an early start on your Archie collection. It’s an election year, so American Mythology publishing has your back. Check out Three Stooges Red White & Stooge #1, featuring a “Vote For…” cover for each stooge.

Another sleeper cell this week will be Sentient #1 (Hermes Press). Writer M. Zachary Sherman and artists Emmanuel Xerx/J. Brown on this one. More of the same here as with Surgeon X #1. A different type of story will bring interest from fans once word gets out. A sci-fi/thriller type story that’ll have you coming back.

Smosh #1 – We informed readers on Friday that this comic was definitely one to keep an eye out on. The comic is completely sold out across the board. Variants and the regular cover. Yes we did warn readers this was a book to watch for. We hate to say we told you so, but……we told you so.

Gwenpool #0 – The incentive variant is sold out. We spoke about this too.

Punisher #1 – The Alex Maleev variant is sold out. Yes, yes we spoke about this as well. We spoke about the new Punisher series, written by Beck Cloonan in length in this week’s InvestComics Hot Picks #422. Read up on it.

Renato Jones One Percent #1 – This offering from writer/artist Kaare Andrews is a winner.

Spider-Gwen #8 – Two variant covers have new Spider-Gwen characters on them. A Spider-Gwen Samurai and Iron Spider-Gwen. Could me nothing, but Gwenpool first appeared on a cover too.

IC 100 Club Pick: Superman #23.1 10.0 (2013). This comic serves as no significance in every day collectors life, but it does have the origin of Bizarro. We do feel that Bizarro will eventually make it to either the big screen or little screen one day, but that’s not really why we have this comic featured here. If you ever wanted to own a perfect gem mint comic book, a 10.0, here is your chance for only $89 and FREE shipping. Not a bad deal for a perfect comic book.

Midnighter #12 has Apollo, Suicide Squad and Midnighter himself squaring off against a dude as powerful as Superman and as smart as Midnighter. His name is Unified and his first appearance was in the previous issue; Midnighter #11.
Neal Adams is killing it with his Superman The Coming Of Supermen comics. And check out the cover to Superman The Coming Of Supermen #4!
Green Arrow #52 features a dead Green Arrow at the hands of Deathstroke. Not really dead, but still makes for some high drama! Fantastic Patrick Zircher cover.
The Super League storyline, part 5, will bring the team Great 10 on board. Check out Batman Superman #32 for that. And just to make sure you have it, Great 10’s first appearance was in 52 #6 back in 2006. Not that many appearances under their belt in ten years. 30 in all maybe?

Dynamite Entertainment is all in with their Kings Quest #1 release. Nine (noine) covers to choose from here. The Chris Ellopoulos cover and the Colton Worley cover are our favorites.
Okay so Dynamite has this interesting comic coming out on Wednesday and it’s going to be extremely interesting to see how it all plays out. The comic is Smosh #1. Smosh is a social media conglomerate. They have 22 million Youtube subscribers and millions more in other social media outlets. They are now releasing their first ever comic book. With social media driving so much marketing around us, will Smosh use this opportunity to benefit in promoting a different medium for themselves? Will they use their media brand to sell comics?  How will all this equate to comic sales?? Something to keep an eye out on if they decide to promote via their vast media audience. Better buy this comic for the rawness of its story, it sounds hysterical, and for the possible sell out due to supply not meeting demand.

Marvel releases it’s tenth volume Punisher #1 this week. You probably did the eye roll seeing that the Punisher has another number one comic coming out. What if we told you that THIS time is a bit different? He’s something to chew on. Out of the ten volume number one issues, never did one start with a name like Becky Cloonan. Becky will be the first female writer on the start of a new Punisher series. It will be quite refreshing to get a new take on this character from a female perspective. Becky Cloonan is an all-start and has been around since the beginning of the millennium. She’s no stranger as to how comics are written or drawn for that matter. Punisher #1 this time will truly have a new outlook. One more thing, the amazing Alex Maleev variant is sold out. As is the pointless Captain America Punisher #1 cover by John Cassaday. Nice cover, but we don’t care it’s a celebratory 75th anniversary Cap cover, makes no sense not to have the Punisher on the cover, period.

InvestComics gave readers a heads up on the first ever Gwenpool comic a while back. Fans listened and bought them up. She donned the cover of Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars #2 (the one we recommended). Now Marvel is re-releasing that particular comic along with other Gwenpool appearances. Gwenpool #0 collects a bunch of Gwenpool stories including her first appearance, but that variant new blood red pool cover (that original comic we recommended), yeah it’s sold out already.
So you want another first appearance on a cover? Sure why not?! How about Spider-Gwen #8 featuring Spider-Gwen Samurai. This variant cover is from John Tyler Christopher. How about Iron Spider-Gwen first appearance? Does that tickle your fancy? She appears on a Spider-Gwen #8 variant as well. We’re not too sure who that cover is from.
Jamal Campbell’s variant Amazing Spider-Man #12 cover is a beauty, wow.

Whenever a Daredevil/Punisher comic comes out, it’s a must get. These two characters make beautiful comics together. Blindspot will join Daredevil in Daredevil Punisher #1 to TRY and take down Frank Castle. Blindspot does not have many appearances since entering the Marvel Universe in All New All Different Point One #1 (2015), his first appearance. Daredevil and the Punisher first met up in that famous/classic Daredevil #181 (1982) comic.
A few months ago Marvel gave us a first ever look at the Mexican Deadpool in Deadpool Masacre #1. It was an all Spanish written book. Now we get the English version of that exact book this Wednesday.

It appears a new Iron Man (Girl) will be making their first appearance in Invincible Iron Man #9. The female characters have dominated the Marvel landscape these days and much to the delight of fans. It’s working out real well.
Star Wars Poe Dameron #1 introduced some new Star Wars characters. Now we learn more about Captain Terrex in Star Wars Poe Dameron #2.
Marvel’s semi-answer to DC’s Suicide Squad debuts this Wednesday; Thunderbolts #1. It’s the teams third number one issue (third volume). The Thunderbolts have been around (with different members throughout the years) for almost 20 years already. They were first introduced in Incredible Hulk #449 (1997).
Mark Millar’s Empress #2 comes out. We said this with the first issue, as long as this series is on time, it should do well.

Cinema Purgatorio #1 (Avatar Press) will bring together Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neil for the first time since League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Many times, bringing creators together again after years apart does not always mean magic again. Lets see if the spark happens here.
Deep Space Tragedy #3 (Cosmic Times) cover will pay homage to the Transformers #5. The cover is done by Jamie Jones. The comic is written and drawn by Mike Wagganer.

Empress #1 – This “Saga” like comic from Mark Millar will be sold out in no time. Watch for this Marvel imprint from Icon to take off. One of the key components to its success will be that it has to be consistent on its release. Millar’s Nemesis, also from Icon, was a semi-success, but lost many fans because of delays. It could have been a bigger book (should have been), but delays will kill things fast. Empress + on time = success.

Star Wars Poe Dameron #1 – Almost every week InvestComics preaches the gospel about Star Wars comics from Marvel. We say to buy them because they are fantastic reads and for the possible first appearance that may explode at any time. This week we have a character from the latest Star Wars movie making their first appearance in a Star Wars comic. What more do you want here? Okay, maybe have your wife/girlfriend or maybe read it with your kid? That would be cool too.

Justice League Darkseid War Special #1 – Darkseid’s daughter, Grail, will be making her indelible mark within the DC universe this Wednesday. DC might be priming her for bigger things to come. Check out the InvestComics Hot Picks #418 for more info on this and about Grail’s first appearance.

Harley Quinn And The Suicide Squad April Fools Special #1 – One of DC’s all time greatest artist will grace us with his presence in this book. Jim Lee will pencil and do the cover art here. What more do you need? Refer back to the new Star Wars comic if you need more answers on that.

Superman #51 – A new story line begins; Super League. Be on the lookout for possible new villains or heroes in this epic Superman crossover event. We’ll probably say “told you so!”

Showcase #75

Click To Buy Now

Each week InvestComics seeks out a comic(s) on Ebay for $100 or less and then brings it to the attention of our fans. We call it IC 100 Club Pick. The idea is to get a great book at a great price. We do not own nor are we selling these comics. The comics are found by a random process. We do not know the ebay seller(s), nor are we promoting the Ebay seller. Any knowing from the Ebay seller of InvestComics or its affiliates in purely coincidental. (See disclaimer for more details)

IC 100 Club Pick: Showcase #75 (1968) 7.0. This comic represents the first appearance and origin of Hawk and Dove. Story, cover and interior art from the legendary man himself, Steve Ditko. A 7.0 grade for only $90, with FREE shipping, gets this beauty in your hands. This a must in your collection.

Click on the RED links or the comic cover to buy/bid from all available sellers on Ebay.

Look for writer Mark Millar to turn things upside down with the debut of Empress #1 from Marvel’s imprint Icon. It’s already getting billed as Marvel Comics version of “Saga”. And we all know how Saga turned out. Mark will introduce fans to a whole new sci-fi world. Hollywood LOVES Mark Millar and we wonder if Marvel Studios would ever pick this up and run with it. Who knows? It could happen. Either way, this is an introduction comic in the vein of Saga, one to watch for here! This will be big.

The new Black Panther series makes its debut this week; Black Panther Vol 6 #1. The longest running Black Panther series lasted 62 issues. Many limited series, one shots, and team-up books over the span of six volumes for the character. Will this series ever make past 62 issues? We’ll see. But the first issue here is accompanied by an abundance of variants to choose from. Pointless, and the need for 13 different covers (at last count, probably more) is a bit excessive. The creative team makes for a must get though. Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates and artist Brian Stelfreeze will bring fans back again and again.

Marvel will introduce a new Star Wars character into their library. Star Wars Poe Dameron #1 will have the first comic book appearance of Poe Dameron. Poe appeared in the latest Star Wars flick and now he makes his way into the funnies. Regular InvestComics readers know how we feel about the Star Wars comics. Buy them all! This one here is so obvious that if you miss it, shame on you! Besides Empress #1, this is the other big Marvel book this week.

This week’s Justice League Darkseid War Special #1 will focus on Darkseid’s daughter Grail. A book simmering in the back issue bins on Ebay is Justice League #40 (2015), the first appearance of Darkseid’s daughter Grail. With DC maybe headed towards a Darkseid movie appearance, who’s to say they won’t take a page out of Marvel’s film franchise and include his daughter, a’la Marvel’s Nebula (Thanos). Right now JL #40 might be a gimme at $15….the same price as some worthless variant this week. Maybe getting Justice League #40 instead of a pretty cover makes more sense. Just saying.
There are plenty of DC comic covers by John Romita Jr. to choose from this week. DC is proud to have John Romita Jr. on their side instead of those “other guys”. Some may say or think this is the first time John is playing for the other side, but fans of InvestComics know we’re going to do our research! John Romita Jr. first drew some DC characters back in 1994. Not just “any” characters, he penciled Batman, Robin, Joker, among some others from the DCU. The comic was Batman/Punisher: Deadly Knights. Art by John Romita Jr. and written by Chuck Dixon. John also contributed to the awesome cover. Great comic, great story, Romita Jr.’s first DC work.

While on topic regarding DC’s past history. Bloodlines #1 debuts with writer J.T. Krul and artist Kenneth Marion at the helm. Bloodlines was a huge crossover storyline that took almost 6 months to hammer out back in 1993, spanning from August to December. The very first Bloodlines book was Lobo Annual #1 Bloodlines Outbreak. This comic introduced the Bloodlines Parasites.

Mr. Jim Lee will provide artwork for this week’s winner of the longest comic book title; Harley Quinn And The Suicide Squad April Fools Special #1. Yes, THE Jim Lee will be penciling this comic. The Lee sketch cover is already sold out.

Injustice Gods Among Us Year Five #7 features the first appearance of the NEW Nightwing.
It looks like Superman #51 could possibly introduce some new characters within its major new storyline crossing over all of the Superman titles; Super League Part 1 begins here. Keep an eye out on this series for new characters and villains.
Green Arrow will battle Deathstroke in Green Arrow #51. Fantastic covers from Patrick Zircher (regular cover) and John Romita Jr. (variant).

Grizzly Shark #1 from Image Comics looks interesting. Grizzly Shark first appeared in Sea Bear and Grizzly Shark #1 (2010). This Origin debut comic is written by Robert Kirkman. Ever heard of him? Art from the 2010 and 2016 Shark books; Ryan Ottley.
A new Think Tank series will start this Wednesday; Think Tank #1 (Image Comics). The original series started in 2012; Think Tank #1.

Aside from the obvious success of the Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman has amassed quite the career thus far. This Creator Spotlight will not focus on the Walking Dead comics Robert has done because InvestComics has already covered most of them throughout the years. We’re going to focus on his body of work besides TWD, which is quite impressive to say the least. A young career, but yet so vast.

Netflix recently announced that Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher will make his way onto the Daredevil series. Good news for comic fans! The fans have responded well and we decided it was time for a Punisher checklist.

As always, there will be comics that did not make the list. No big deal. If you have something to share or add to the list, please free to do so below.

NOTE: This website is best viewed on Google Chrome.

Marvel Tales #106 (1979) The very first comic reprint of Punisher’s first appearance with the original cover from Spidey #129. The first of many many Punisher origin reprints throughout the years.

Captain America #241 (1980) The first time Punisher appears in a comic other than a Spidey book in the Marvel Universe. An early Punisher appearance and classic too. The first comic cover the Punisher graces that is not Spider-Man related. Bob McLeod and Frank Miller cover.

Daredevil #181 (1982) The first appearance in the Daredevil title. This comic has it all. The death of Elektra, Bullseye appearance, Frank Miller writes, art, and cover. As explained in the Creator Spotlight: Frank Miller; Netflix already announced the Punisher will be making his way into the Daredevil series. This book here is all kinds of awesome already and any collector should already own one. Because of the characters and probable story line on the Netflix show, it would be wise to get one if you don’t have one yet……BUT that said, on the flip side, there are way way too many copies of this comic available. Being too accessible puts it in the “New Mutants #98” category. So many copies, way overpriced. Be smart.

Creator Spotlight – Frank Miller

daredevil-184-miller

New to InvestComics? Please read the Disclaimer here before proceeding…

One of the most prolific comic creators of our time is Frank Miller. He single-handedly made two comic characters into iconic status. Several of his creator owned projects have either seen film/television time or will in the future. Frank Miller’s art is extremely distinctive as well. Everything from the overbearing board shoulders of Batman to the loneliness feel of Daredevil’s pain, to the violence of 300. His writing replicates his artistry. Usually very bold and forthcoming. A distinctive comic creator in every facet. A true legend and Icon in the industry.

Here are just a few of his key books in his vast career. It took a very long time to compile this list and we hope you enjoy every bit of it as we did putting it together.
