With all of the nostalgic cartoons, old television shows, old comic book heroes, and everything else from yesterday being revamped and brought into modern times in a unique new way, one group stands out as never having had a live-action film. Which is kind of hard to believe, really. The gang I’m speaking of is Peanuts. You know, the Charlie Brown gang.

How is it that Charles M. Schulz created these worldwide-recognized characters, and they have never come to life in a live-action form? He created Peanuts in 1950, so the math says it has been 76 years, and the entertainment world has still never seen these characters take on live-action in any real capacity. Heck, even Archie finally got his due in 2017 with the Riverdale show. It lasted seven seasons, too. A live-action musical came out in 2023 as well.

The Peanuts brand is still alive and moving, but the live-action piece is still somehow missing. How is that fathomable? It is well past time, and we have the scoop on the first comic you should be looking at now before InvestComics gets into someone’s ear… like we always do.

Speaking of which, did you see that we gave our fans the scoop on Thundercats #1 a few weeks ago, on June 7, 2026, right here: https://investcomics.com/thundercats-first-appearance-bronze-age-hot-pick/ — and then news was announced directly from Warner Bros. last week about a ThunderCats project down the road? Yes, we are good at this. Always have been.

So, Peanuts #1 from 1953 is the first solo Peanuts comic book and one of the most important early comic-book appearances tied to Snoopy. The Peanuts gang, minus Snoopy, first appeared a year earlier in United Comics #21 and Tip Top Comics #173, which were released simultaneously. Peanuts #1 was a one-shot that featured reprinted artwork from Charles M. Schulz’s early work, now presented in color.

This comic would absolutely go through the roof from a speculation standpoint because of its rarity and the demand that would follow if a live-action Peanuts project ever came to fruition.

Let’s talk CGC population numbers. Only 71 total graded copies, with zero hitting the near-mint 9.0 or higher range. The highest grade right now is an 8.5, and only two copies sit in that spot.

We could not locate any recent sales, but the asking prices are a bit sporadic. A 3.0 is listed for $4,995. A 4.0 is listed for $4,800. A 2.5 is listed for $4,500. A 5.0 is listed at $11,300, with another at $9,500. Even a 0.5 is sitting at $1,995. Pick and choose wisely, but a gem is a gem, and this one is definitely a gem. It is waiting for the moment some great director and writer finally says, “Hey, who’s got eyes on the Peanuts gang?” Man, if that happens, watch out.

A Peanuts film or Netflix-style series built around the comedy of kids could explode in popularity. Or maybe they age the gang up and make it a comedy-drama series dealing with real-life issues. Who knows? The potential is endless.

No good grief here. Just lots of upside if and when this ever pops off.
