Star Wars Jedi Of The Republic Mace Windu #1 – Mace gets his first solo comic. Batvark #1 – Dave Sim. Cerebus. Nuff said. The Tick #1 – New England Comics treats fans to a new Tick series. Savage Dragon #226 – The always honest, outspoken Erik Larsen, trumps Trump in this Savage Dragon story.

Darkseid #1 #1
Fanboys rejoice! The time creeps ever so close for you to stop pretending you’re not buying any Marvel titles because Captain America is playing for the bad guys (Hydra). Looks as though Deadpool has things under control in Deadpool #35. Probably not, but the end is nigh my fanboy, the end is nigh. You soon will have something new to complain about after Steve Rogers is reintroduced into the Marvel Universe (again). What to complain about next??……oh wait Marvel Legacy is coming. Oh boy, at least the comic fan (subjective reader) has a little reprieve before all the complaining starts up again. And so Secret Empire #10 spells the beginning of the end for bad Cap. The Secret Empire will start to go bye-bye and fanboys…….wait we already picked on them already. This week’s Marvel character & Marvel character book is Generations Hawkeye & Hawkeye #1. Who exactly makes these titles up anyway? Totally Awesome, The Crew, All-New All-Different, Infamous, and on and on. Sheesh, stop already. How about Hulk, Avengers, Doctor Doom, Black Panther? Yes, those are good titles. Star Wars fans were pleased to hear the news some time ago about Mace Windu getting his first solo comic ever. This Wednesday, Marvel will continue their trend of delivering high quality SW books with Star Wars Jedi Of The Republic Mace Windu #1. A nice long title to roll off the tongue there. Mace Windu made his comic debut in 1999’s Star Wars: Episode 1 – Obi-Wan Kenobi (Dark Horse). Thanos teams with the Avengers in Thanos #10. Imagine if this happened in the Avengers Infinity War movie. Imagine Thanos has to side with the Avengers to defeat someone or something even more sinister than him. If that’s even possible, but talk about throwing a monkey wrench into things huh? Well, this cool scenario unfolds in this comic written by Jeff Lemire and artist German Peralta.
Buy/Bid – SW #1 Episode 1
Buy/Bid – Mace Windu #1
Buy/Bid – The Tick #1 1988
Buy/Bid – The Tick #1 2017
One of DC’s most revered villains within their universe will host his own comic special this week; Darkseid Special #1, writer Mark Evanier & artist Scott Kolins. Black Racer And Shilo Norman Special #1. Written by Reginald Hudlin and art by Denys Cowan & Bill Sienkiewicz.
InvestComics Indie Hot Picks; The Tick is coming back. The Tick #1 will be written by comic fan fav Cullen Bunn teamed with Jimmy Z Johnson. Art by Douglas Paszkiewicz. The Tick was first introduced in The Tick #1 in 1988 by the same publisher as the one releasing this week’s debut; New England Comics. Dave Sim (creator of the character Cerebus) will hit a home run with Batvark #1 (Aardvark Vanaheim). This comic is all kinds of crazy. A must here. As the Trump presidency carries out, more and more comics seem to have the president appearing in them. This week, a voice that never hides from his own opinion about the administration, Erik Larsen, displays Trump right on his cover of Savage Dragon #226. Trump’s Titans #1 (Keenspot); writer John Barron and artist John Miller. New horror/sci-fi comic from Titan1Studios; Weathered Spirit #1. Written by Kyle James Smith and art by Ruben Rojas.

For each issue that arrives within the Edge of Venonverse, we will keep a constant reminder of how one of these issue could be a potential major breakout for a new mash-up character. This week’s Edge of Venomverse #3 is no exception. The introduction of Host Rider. That’s Ghost Rider and Venom mashed-up for those not in the know. Although this really isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Venom host take over Johnny Blaze. Back in 2012, the story-line ‘Circle of Four’ in Venom #13.4 saw the host take over and combine the Red Hulk with Ghost Rider. Red Hulk Rider? Ghost Hulk? Yes, this really happened. Bottom line, get each issue of the Edge of Venomverse as they arrive. You never know when one of these mash-ups will explode in the aftermarket, if ever. More importantly though, you’re getting a sweet story and art by Tigh Walker. Batch X makes its move of several players in Weapon X #6. Weapon H (aka Hulk/Wolverine) will be arriving soon so says Marvel in Totally Awesome Hulk #22. This comic, with that ridiculous title still, will be flying off the shelf when it arrives. Get an early jump on Ebay right HERE (some available early). As always, from ALL available Ebay sellers. Click on the RED links, Images or the comic cover to buy/bid from All available sellers on Ebay. New story begins in Blue Beetle #11 with the introduction of a new character named Ghostfire. InvestComics Indie Hot Picks; Wolverine appears on the Rob Liefeld cover of Bloodstrike #1 from Image comics. Why? Did we miss the memo? Spawn #276 delivers a new creative team. Writer Darragh Savage and writer/artist Jason Shawn Alexander. Power Ranger fans get their ‘Year One’ story with the new release Go Go Power Rangers #1 from Boom Studios. Written by Ryan Parrott and art by Dan Mora. Click on the RED links, Images or the comic cover to buy/bid from All available sellers on Ebay. Scout Comics, as we always say, are totally on point. A super limited-edition comic from Coffin Comics; Lady Death: Zodiac #1. From the awesome artistry talent of Nei Ruffino and will be signed by Lady Death creator Brian Pulido. Written by Bob Varderman. Only 200 available. (Update:) We’re not even sure if this is a new release this week. We saw it on some new release sheet someplace, but it could be a re-release or an older book. Who cares though? Still a cool book. In case you haven’t noticed lately or maybe in the last few years actually, Valiant Entertainment are strictly bull market. Google ‘bull market’ if you do not get the reference, but yes Valiant is moving onward and upward. Searching for a comic with great art? Great storytelling? Yes, Valiant Entertainment should be a place to begin. Speaking of a place to begin, Faith And The Future Force #1 from writer Jody Houser and artists Stephen Segovia & Barry Kitson comes to stores on ncbd. Click on the RED links, Images or the comic cover to buy/bid from All available sellers on Ebay. Two comics from our friends at Chapter House Publishing; a new Captain Canuck #1 issue. Titan Books will answer the bell for Robetech fans with a new series; Robotech #1. Also a great way for new fans to jump on board as well. Writer Brian Wood and illustrator Marco Turini. This funny spoof from Antarctic Press is written by Alfred Perez with art from Brian Denham and Ben Dunn. Also from Antarctic Press this Wednesday; Super Secret Robot Club (one shot) from Matthew Spradin & Casey Edwards and Sidewinders #1 from writer/artist Dennis Chacon plus various. It seems the Transformers bug has bitten Mark Wahlberg hard enough to make him produce a comic book for Vault Comics. We’re cool with that, Mark seems like a chill dude and makes entertaining movies. Alien Bounty Hunter #1 will be written by Adrian Wassel & David M. Booher, with Nick Robles pencils.

InvestComics has a serious influence on the comic book market and industry. Sorry haters, but the truth be told. We mentioned the first issue of Spider-Man Deadpool #1 as a no-brainer speculative/read comic quite a while ago. We predicted a sell out. Naturally (and obviously) this happened. It’s on its 8th printing. As each issue came out we told fans to keep getting each issue. Not only because the series was a well written, action packed book, but the fact that each issue kept selling out. We stated this phrase; “…..each book in this series keeps selling out, so get on top of this…” Well guess who now uses that line as part of their “up-sell” of this series? Yes you got it, Marvel does! You’re welcome guys/gals! So with all of our gloating and patting ourselves on the back out of the way, we arrive to Spider-Man Deadpool #9 this week. Itsy-Bitsy first appeared in the last issue, find out who or what she’s about this coming Wednesday. As for the series? We’re still in the bull market here (bullish). Hey Marvel…….”We’re still in bull market mode regarding the Spider-Man Deadpool series”. It’s okay, you can use it if you’d like, just some credit this time maybe?? And hey Image Comics, the same to you! C’mon guys! Relax fanboys, just having fun here. Save your thread messages and emails, we never listen to what you have to say anyway.

Doctor Strange And The Sorcerers Supreme #1 will debut in late October. It will feature the first appearance of some characters on the new team Doctor Strange will put together. Marvel clued fans onto this info a while back, but it looks as though fans may get the first appearance(s) happening a bit earlier in this week’s Doctor Strange Annual #1. The Sorcerers Supreme team may appear in this book before their ‘official’ debut a few weeks later in late October. Deadpool Annual #1 will feature his ‘Insufferable Pals’. Those pals will be Firestar and Iceman. This annual is obviously spoofing on the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends #1 from 1981, which happens to feature the first appearance of Firestar in Marvel’s continuity. Spider-Gwen #12 pits Spider-Gwen against the Punisher. Should be a fun fight! Go Frank! (Did we say that out loud?). A very cool B&W Baltimore Comic Con variant exist of the regular cover on Ebay. Be sure to check that cover out too when you click the link. Cosplay guru Riki ‘Riddle’ Lecotey has sold out her Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #12 variant cover. Kudos Riki!

Writer Dan Jurgens and artist Ryan Sook bring fans the new Batman Beyond Rebirth #1 title. The delayed Blue Beetle #1 comes out this week. This book is brought to us by Keith Giffen (writer) and Scott Kolins (pencils). A few weeks ago, readers learned more about the villain Harley Sinn. Find out who Harley Sinn actually is in the revealing of her identity in Harley Quinn And Her Gang Of Harleys #6. Deathstroke writer Christopher Priest continues to make his title a go-to book each month. Deathstroke #3 brings Rose Wilson (The Ravager) front and center. Rose Wilson (Ravager) first appeared in Deathstroke The Terminator #15 (1992). A very affordable first appearance…..at the moment. And check out the awesome Shane Davis variant. The Ravager looks fantastic. And also, have you seen our Deathstroke checklist that came out in May 2015 on InvestComics? It’s quite the extensive list. Not only will Valiant Entertainment’s X-O Manowar #50 be a spectacular 64 page anniversary issue, but the variant covers that will accompany this issue are gorgeous. We’ve narrowed down to four covers we love the most, but readers should, without a doubt get a copy of X-O Manowar #50 this Wednesday no matter which cover! Here are the four covers we dig the most; Kaare Andrews, Chip Zdarsky, Shane Davis and Phil Jimenez. The Phil Jimenez variant cover is an Amazing Spider-Man #583 homage. A cover he actually did himself! Valiant Entertainments new team book Generation Zero is making some noise. Readers should definitely be on top of Generation Zero #2. This series will gain momentum as the issues come out, be on top of this one. Eric Powell continues to destroy any hope in getting first prints of his new hit series; Hillbilly. It looks like Hillbilly #3 will sell out by the time you reach the end of this article. Actually, nope, sold out already. Best get your copy off the rack if you want one.

No variants, just one cover!
Writers Marguerite Bennett/Cameron Deordio, along with artist Audrey Mok bring the new Archie Comics title Josie And The Pussycats #1. Archie’s new television series will bring the ratings and the fans (and new fans) along with it. We think the Archie series will do extremely well, so you better have those Archie comics in order.
